Biggin Hill Air Fair Case Study
Air Displays International, the organisers of the Biggin Hill International Air Fair - Europe's biggest private airshow, approached Sensible Web Solutions with a need to upgrade their excising website to include a totally new look and feel, new brand and logo and to have the ability to update the website themselves.
The Joomla! open source content management system was a perfect fit for their requirements. Sensible Web Solutions built a robust template to incorporate the new design, setup the content management system and trained the in-house staff how to use Joomla! CMS.
Happy with their new website, Air Displays International then wanted to move all of their current manual ticket office operations onto the website so we built a custom Joomla! component to fulfil their bespoke needs.
Comparing 2010's ticket sales to those in 2009, Air Displays International were able to increase their website orders compared to telephone orders significantly. Last year they had about as many website orders as they did telephone orders, this year it was close to a ratio of 5:1 for website to phone orders, reducing their costs and maximising their profits. Despite opening their ticket office for one week less than last year, they were able to sell 40% more tickets within this reduced time-frame.
